About Me

I have lived in a lot of places - from Alaska to Africa. Moving a lot when I was younger pressed the importance of family and home into my heart. It is one of the main reasons I love writing Young Adult novels and having characters wrestle with the questions of:Who am I?
Where do I belong?
What does home look like?
These are foundational questions inside of all of our hearts and they are so fun to explore inside stories. Also, in case you were wondering, I have a hard time knowing how to answer the question, "So where did you grow up?" My answer usually starts with a shrug.Other things you should know about me in no particular order are:
- I'm dyslexic and wanted to drop out of school one week after starting first grade.
- I've never broken a bone.
- I once got run over by a girl learning how to surf at Waikiki Beach.
- I can never get enough of looking at the sky. I love all of its moods and take far too many pictures of it.
I'm really glad you're here and I hope you enjoy the stories I write.
